![]() ![]() I can only go by your experience and then I can make my choice, Lucky I have so much choice. Now the fact you can purchase 2x 2217 for a little more than half that of the 2080(with media) can you really tell me its worth spending the extra.and why you would. A variety of accessories allow you to upgrade the features to meet your requirements. For this, there are filter Media Sets for each model (except classic 150). However, we recommend a filter media layering set up using EHEIM filter media. so if I apply Taksan's divide by 3 rule, with EHEIM Specs on paper they are close. The filter can be operated with coarse and fine filter pads. Ok so there is an extra 10w of power (40w in total) for both the 2217 filters compared to 30w of the 2080. So two 2217 in theory would go close to one 2080 biologically and even at 600L/hr each would match the flow of the 1207 L/Hr of the 2080, and looking at Illusn's "Eheim in series" post and the flow rates he got has me re-thinking what I need.ĮHEIM 2080 has 12L + 1.5L of media (Eheim media kit, 8L substrat pro, 4L mech and pads) has a real flow rate of 1207 L/Hr (Taksan data)ĮHEIM 2217 has 6L of media, 4L substrat Pro, 1L mech and course/fine foam pads with a flow of 649L/Hr.(from Illusns measurements) I have read Taksan's review so many times I nearly know it of by heart. ![]() Well I still havent got my head around spending so much on one filter,(the 2080), and have gone back through many posts to find some actual data. ![]()
